OKMEYDANI WORKSHOPS

Productive Social Service Model

The workshops located in our Okmeydanı Historical Campus complement the institution's care services. These workshops, where many of the institution's needs are met, are concrete examples of the traditional "productive social service model".

Our Current Workshops

  • Metalworkshop: Bed frames, chairs, railings, railing repair, and custom metal production according to specific needs
  • Carpentry Workshop: Production of cabinets, tables, chairs, shelves, and panels, as well as in-house wood repair work
  • Electrical and Electronics Workshop: Lighting systems, emergency call systems, device maintenance, repair, and cabling
  • Barber Unit: Haircuts, shaves, and personal grooming services for residents
  • Tailor Shop: Repair and production of bed linens, curtains, uniforms, and personal clothing

A Vision for the Future

Darülaceze aims for these production units not only to serve internal institutional needs but also to transform into learning spaces open to vocational training, internships, and volunteers.
